The sensor is the key…

The urine sensors (the Urosensor™), by Anzacare are unique and patented, and they are a major component of the DRI Sleeper's® success.

What appears to be a very simple part of the product is in fact a complex design challenge. The sensor has a tough job – every night it's wet by urine, and then washed over and over again; it gets tugged and pulled during sleep and it has the corrosive factor of urine to contend with.

Over 25 years Anzacare has designed, evaluated, redesigned, and redesigned again. The result is the Urosensor™. A unique, patented non-metallic, completely moulded product. It cannot corrode, irritate the skin, allow urine to leak inside or break. Because the urine cannot leak inside, then it can be washed quickly to be instantly reused; it does not get contaminated with the urine, and internal wiring to the alarm cannot become corroded.

And there’s the wireless version…

The Wireless Urosensor™ remote presents an even greater challenge.

To be wireless it has to communicate with the alarm by a radio signal. Therefore it has electronics and a battery inside. These have to be miniature to keep the sensor small for comfort. It must be completely sealed to keep the urine out and so the small battery has to last for a long time.

The Urosensor™ remote is the only wireless sensor to have solved all of the complex issues that enable the sensor to be: small; completely sealed; located right in the crotch of the underwear where it is triggered immediately by the urine; and for the battery to last for at least two years.
